Camponotus (Myrmespera) cuneiscapus Forel

return to key {link to the Hymenoptera Name Server} Type location South Africa (Camponotus cuneiscapus n. sp., Forel, 1910f: 665, illustrated, major/media & worker; Arnold, 1924: 679, queen) Steinkopf, L Schultze; major/media, worker and queen only described (see Bolton, 1995) .

{Camponotus (Myrmespera) cuneiscapus}Forel's (1910f) description is at {original description}. Arnold (1924) gave a translation and a description of the queen (as in subgenus Myrmopsamma); this is at {original description}.

Curiously, Arnold (1924) queries the subgenus placement "In view of the total absence of the moustache on the clypeus"; but that is prominent in Forel's illustration.
