The
photomontage is of a major worker from Iran,
Afif Abad Garden, Shiraz; collector Roshanak Torabi (03)
From the dimensions, TL ca 5 mm, HW 1.4, it seems likely
this is a major worker, as it is about 25% larger than the
size given by Pisarski - TL 4 mm. The overall morphology is similar to
the details given by Pisarski but the head is larger and squarer in
front view, which one is typical for a Camponotus
major. (Pisarski gave the [minor] worker as having the posterior border
of the head as concave, rathere than convex as shown in his drawing).
The bordering of the propodeum dorsum seems a key separating character
from Camponotus lateralis.

The
photomontage is of a minor worker from Iran,
Afif Abad Garden, Shiraz; collector R Torabi (03)
This appears to wholly match the worker described by
Pisarski.
