Camponotus (Myrmotrema) tilhoi Santschi

return to key {link to the Hymenoptera Name Server} Type location Chad (Camponotus (Myrmotrema) tilhoi n. sp., Santschi, 1926b: 264, major & minor workers) Pol, Mission Tilho, Dr Gallard, 1910; major & minor workers only known (see Bolton, 1995) .

Santschi's (1926b) description is at {original description}. Comparison with Camponotus olivieri but with less pubescence on the gaster. Now, September 2014, the type images show this to be apparently identical to Camponotus atriscapus.

The prior publication date of tilhoi, 1.iv.1926, versus atriscapus, (31).vii.1926, would make this the senior synonym.
