{Cataulacus linearis}

Santschi's (1914b) description is at {original description}.

WORKER - the worker shown below clearly matches Santschi's description and is very distinct from the type form Cataulacus wissmannii; Bolton (1974a) stated he examined the Santschi specimen but this has distinctly larger eyes OI 47 cf wissmannii OI 41-43, and has straight sides to the head behind the eyes. It also has a pronounced subpostpetiolar process ("weakly developed or absent in wissmannii") and the gaster dorsum is very strongly and wholly linearly rugose.

Cataulacus linearisThe photomontage of the type worker is collated from http://www.antweb.org/specimen.do?name=casent0912575
