(12. Dorylus atratus, F. Smith, 1859b: 4, illustrated, male; in
Anomma by Menozzi, 1942: 165, presumably following
Emery, 1895j: 723) from Old Calabar; male only known (see Bolton (1995) - no images on Antweb (July 2014) .

The overall size, TL ca 19 mm, and mandible shape
would appear to place this in subgenus Dorylus.
Also from Cameroun (at Bibundi, by Tessman),
the Congo (at Ogowe, by Mocquerys) and, Fernando Po (by
Conradt; Santa Isabel by Schultze); plus a single male found in Zaïre
(at Stanleyville, by Lang & Chapin); (Wheeler, 1922).
