The nest sites of Camponotus acvapimensis and Myrmicaria fumata were insolated areas.
Odontomachus troglodytes by contrast nests in shade, such as at the base of trees.
The dense cocoa canopy afforded a prime habitat for Tetramorium aculeatum.
