variety australis (Acantholepis monardi Sants., v. australis n. var., Santschi, 1930b: 75, illustrated, worker; name not to be confused with Acantholepis (Acrostigma) australis Forel, 1902h, now Stigmacros australis, from Australia), also from Angola - see http://www.antweb.org/specimenImages.do?code=casent0912398

Worker only described (see Bolton, 1995) .

Bernard (1952) reported it, as a species previously known only from Angola, from Guinea; several workers having been found at Mt. Nimba - N'Zo 266, T 222 and Ravin I of Mount Tô.
