Baroni Urbani does not seem to have been convinced that this was a Leptanilla, suggesting affinities with the genus Noonilla, with a single species from the Philippines, and that it might actually represent a new genus.

The holotype was collected at N. Bussa, Kano State, Nigeria, in 1970 (J.T. Medler).
