WORKER - TL 3.1-3.3 mm; separation as in key; colour medium to dark brown, with dense sharp reticulo-puncturate sculpturation. Very close to the southern/east African species opacum from which it differs in having a sharply defined, or subdentate, angle between the dorsum and declivity of the propodeum; plus the anterior border of the clypeus being concave (Bolton, 1987: 359, not illustrated).
