Oligomyrmex (Aneleus) new species Cameroun 2010

Major - return to key Minor - return to key {link to the Hymenoptera Name Server} Type location Cameroun; major & minor described .
Both the major and minor key to the Cameroun species O. diabolus in having no propodeal teeth but these have little sculpturation compared with the dense puncturation on the head and alitrunk of diabolus

The major also differs in having little sculpturation on the head other than fine anterior striation. There is no indication at all of a median ocellus.

With the minor the head appears less rectangular and has weakly convex sides.

11-segmented antennae; eye of perhaps four facets; mandibles smooth and shiny; clyepus with the faintest hint of a median carina; anterior margin of clypeus weakly sinuous and with very small but distinct lateral angles, each bearing a minute hair; posterior of clypeus narrowly produced but terminating in a distinct impression; frontal carinae short and splayed outwards posterior to the antennal insertions; head in full face view elongated with moderately convex sides, occiput quite deeply impressed, the lateral corners marginate with short forward curved teeth (much shorter than O. diabolus); promesonotum highly domed in profile and transversely; metanotal groove deep; propodeum without teeth, angle between dorsum and declivity defined but rounded, declivity with fine margination; erect pilosity, distinctly golden yellow but limited to anterior of head, several erect hairs on the alitrunk  semi-decumbent hairs on the pronotum and the apex of the gaster; overall, including appendages, with quite abundant long sub-erect long golden yellow pubescence; sculpturation limited; the head with very fine anterior longitudinal striations, that in angled light can be seen to persist as very faint lines on the posterior of the head; fine spiculation on the propodeum; overall colour golden yellow, darker on head and gaster, mandibles yellow-brown

{Oligomiyrmex nsp Cameroon 2010 minor}The photomontage is of a minor worker collected from the same location. TL ca 1.5 mm HL 0.51 HW 0.35 CI 74 SL 0.28 SI 80 PW 0.25
Sculpturation limited to fine spiculation of the propodeum; eye of a single facet; propodeum without teeth, angle between dorsum and declivity defined but rounded, decilivity with fine margination; erect pilosity limited to anterior of head, a few semi-decumbent hairs on the pronotum and the apex of the gaster; overall, including appendages, with quite abundant appressed long pubescence
