DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR WORKER: - head with moderately convex sides, occiput with rounded angles and no teeth; eye minute and set far forward; antennae 9-segmented; metanotal groove deep; propodeum rising vertically to a flat slightly down-sloping dorsal surface; triangular spines at the top of the flanged posterior margin; head and alitrunk finely rugoreticulate, rugae discontinuous; erect hairs fine, fairly long and moderately abundant; colour yellow-brown.

DESCRIPTION OF MINOR WORKER: not drawn, similarly sculptured but loosely reticulate on the head.

TL 0.98 mm

Found in an old cocoa pod on the ground at the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria, Idi Ayunre, by B. Bolton (1969?). Named in recognition of the collector.
