Pheidole clavata majorThe photomontage is of a major worker from Ethiopia, collector Serge Guiraud.

TL 9.5 mm, HL 3.8 mm; head with fine longitudinal striation; mesonotal welt only moderately developed; postpetiole about three times as wide as long, from above lateral processes narrow but not distinctly curved backwards; legs and antennae clothed with erect pubescence; general colour no more than dark red, gaster and legs more orange
