return to group key {link to the Hymenoptera Name Server} Type location Kenya (Tetramorium miserabilis n. sp., Santschi, 1918c: 153, worker) Reichensperger .

{Tetramorium miserabile}Santschi's (1918c) description is at {original description}. Bolton's modern description (1980) is at {original description}.

WORKER - TL 3.1 mm (Bolton, 1980: 342, illustrated). Note: the Bolton illustrations (head, Fig. 118, and profile, Fig. 116), particularly the head are not a good match for the photographs below.

{Tetramorium miserabile} The photomontage of the type worker is collated from http://www.antweb.org/specimen.do?name=casent0915031.

{Tetramorium miserabile} The photomontage is of a worker from Gabon; collated from http://www.antweb.org/specimen.do?name=casent0280914.
After checking images of both type specimens, it seems indubitable that this is miserabile and not as catalogued on Antweb, where it comes under Tetramorium gegaimi.
