Anochetus ghilianii (Spinola) [for comparison]
Type location Spain
(Morocco?)
(Odontomachus Ghilianii,
Spinola, 1851b; 55, worker; also described Spinola, 1853: 71, 4
workers) from Andalucaa, coll. M Ghiliani
junior synonym cameroni (Anochetus
Cameroni n. sp., Forel, 1915c: 352, worker;
synonymy by Brown, 1964d: 215) from Brazil.
worker only
described (see Bolton, 1995). Note
- why Bolton, 1995: 64, has the type location as "Morocco" is unclear,
Spinola, 1853: 71, gave it as from Andalusie, Spain, 1842; which is as
given
by Mayr (1861: 53). Smith (1858b: 79) who
had "Hab. Brazil (Para)", presumably because the title of the Spinola
paper (1853 but seemingly identical to his 1851b paper) concerned
collections by M Ghiliani in Para .
