Mayr's (1866a) description is at {original description}.

{Cardiocondyla nuda}Egypt record probably none as Forel's (1913d) record was from Fajum, collector U. Sahlberg; i.e. Cardiocondyla fajumensis. A modern record is in Mohamed et al (2001); these findings seem more likely to be of mauritanica - see the key, especially as Mayr's description has the colour as fuscous (dull yellow) with the head and gaster blackish; he also noted the postpetiole as being cubico-rotund.
