worker only known.

Note: I have removed the former subspecies bugnioni to a junior synonym of Cataglyphis viaticus.

{Cataglyphis adenensis petiole}Forel's (1904b) description is at {original description}. Santschi (1929b: 52) had the description - {original description}.

Santschi (1929b) referred to a specimen from Djibouti.

{Cataglyphis adenensis}The photomontage (right) of a type worker is collated from http://www.antweb.org/specimen.do?name=casent0249890.

The minor worker from Kuwait, shown below, is an exact match in size and structure; the colour also is very similar if adjustment is made for the common Antweb problem of too high a magenta component.

{Cataglyphis adenensis}The photomontage is of a Major worker from Kuwait, Camp Arifjan, 28°52'00"N 48°09'50"E, elev 42 m; 18.ix.2005; collector David King. Observed and collected while foraging singly during the day; also recorded at Camp Doha, west of Kuwait City, where it was active at night.
