Note - the record of "Crematogaster aegyptiaca
Mayr subsp. senegalensis var. robusta Emery" by Finzi
(1939a) was not Cr. aegyptiaca but Crematogaster
senegalensis possibly varying from the type form. Emery only
ever described the sexual forms of robusta and in his 1915
paper cited by Finzi further confused the situation, as Emery listed "Crematogaster
aegyptiaca senegalensis Rog.; var. robusta Emery; Nefasit, worker
& queen" (Emery,
1915g: 4 & 10). The Antweb images of the robusta queen appear to be senegalensis and I have posted the
montage there.
The original record was Crematogaster
(Cr.) senegalensis robusta (Cremastogaster
robusta n. sp., Emery, 1877b: 379, queen
& male; Emery, 1915g: 10, worker) from Eritrea, Keren,
Beccari.
Crematogaster (Cr.) turkanensis
(Crematogaster (Acrocoelia) aegyptiaca
Mayr v. turkanensis nov.,
Santschi, 1935b: 271, worker) from Kenya, Turkana Desert,
Kalodeke. Santschi's (1935b)
description of turkanensis is at .
