There is much to be done to sort out the variour "varieties". Emery (1909a: 29) in his key gave the eyes as 5-6 facets) - Thomé & Thomé, for instance show specimens that appear to have single-facet eyes, although they fail to comment on this. With karaki they also give the head as very puncturate with a median smooth line.
