Tetraponera erythraeaThe photomontage of the (probable) type worker is collated from http://www.antweb.org/specimen.do?name=casent0904034. Note the abundance of erect hairs on the head and alitrunk.

A very similar workers from Saudi Arabia can be seen at http://www.antweb.org/specimenImages.do?code=casent0249824
and http://www.antweb.org/specimenImages.do?code=casent0906480

Tetraponera erythraea occidentalisThe photomontage of a type series worker of occidentalis is collated from http://www.antweb.org/specimen.do?name=focol1170.

{Tetraponera erythraea}The photomontage is of a worker from Tanzania, Mkomazi Game Reserve; collector G McGavin (Tree 3-68).

Previously I had this under Tetraponera ambigua but the abundance of erect hairs is as shown above and are absent on the type images for T. ambigua.

{Tetraponera erythraea}The photomontage is of specimens from Egypt, taken by Mostafa Sharaf.
