{Calyptomyrmex brevis}Weber's (1943c) description is at {original description}. Weber (1952) gave a further report from Ituri Forest, Zaïre, this is at {original description}. Bolton's modern description (1987) is at {original description}

{Calyptomyrmex brevis}WORKER - smaller, TL 2.5-2.6 mm; differentiated by having the hair closest to the apex of the outer margin of the clypeus short and stout, also with eyes with only 5-6 facets; colour uniform light to medium-brown (Bolton, 1981a, not illustrated).
