Camponotus (Myrmotrema) compressiscapus André
Type location Sierra Leone
(Camponotus compressiscapus
nov. sp., André, 1889: 218, worker; in s.g. Myrmotrema, Emery, 1925b: 130)
collected by Mocquerys; worker only
described (see Bolton, 1995). Note listed under Myrmosericus
by Bolton (1995) but that seems erroneous .

André's (1889, 1890) description (comparing it with Camponotus
(Myrmotrema) bituberculatus)
is at .
Santschi's Key (1915c) has the defining characters as
the
tibiae prismatic or channelled and the scapes flattened; in compressiscapus
the flattening of the scape is extreme so that the apex is more than
four times as wide as the base. He listed it as from Nigeria and
Senegal.
Bernard (1952) reported several workers were found at
Yalanzou
and N'Zo, forest areas of Mt. Nimba, Guinea.
Listed as a savannah species in Ivory Coast by
Lévieux
& Louis (1975).
