André's
(1881b)
description is at - .
Note: André's
(1882)
description of the queen as "Head and alitrunk matt, very densely and
granulously ridged-punctate; gaster with very fine transverse
striation, quite shiny. Dusky red with the legs brownish and and
gaster bronzy-black. Petiole scale slightly thickened and quite
high, with the upper margin deeply triangularly impressed. TL 10 mm.
After a single specimen from Algeria", seems likely not to be altisquamis but a north African
relative.
