Cataglyphis tonsilisSantschi's (1929b) description as a variety of mauritanica is at {original description}. Cagniant (2009) noted it as a form that is a dull red on the anterior
body and with the dorsum glabrous, HW 2.7-2.8 mm, SI 115-121.
