WORKER - TL 5.5-7.8 mm; described as variable but differentiated by key features (Bolton, 1974a, illustrated, head, alitrunk and variability of pronotal lateral teeth). Note André gave the size as TL 4.5-5.5 mm.

Known from Ile-Ife (J.T. Medler) (Bolton, 1974a) in Nigeria but not represented in the CRIN collection.

In Ghana, it was found at Mt. Atewa by pkd (D. Leston) and running up a moss-covered tree trunk in primary forest (B. Bolton; O.W. Richards), and Mampong (O.W. Richards).

Otherwise, recorded widely across Afrotropical forests, including many records from Zaïre (Bolton, 1974a).
