return to key Photomontage of undetermined species from Angola, Dundo, Capemba, 09°48'00"S 014°41'00"E , 21.xii.1972, coll D H Kistner & R J Swift - http://www.antweb.org/specimen.do?name=SAM-HYM-C007975A
NOTE - in CASENT as "bequaerti" and apparently among the list of specimens examined in Bolton & Fisher (2008: 13) as a specimen of bequaerti. Sizewise it is right at the bottom of the Bolton & Fisher size range. It clearly differs in head and petiole shape from the small bequaerti from Gabon.

The bequaerti shown by Bolton & Fisher, Fig 1-2 CASENT0005922, and on Antweb (CASENT0102992, CASENT0104136, CASENT104137) have a head with weakly convex sides and are narrower anteriorly. This has a parallel sided head. Bolton & Fisher explicitly state the head of bequaerti is entirely smooth and shining; this has the head matt and distinctly though finely sculptured; and, the mandibles have much more pronounced teeth.
