Wheeler (1922) included a record, the Mayr (1866b)
report,
from Sierra Leone but without any details. Arnold (1920a),
however, did not consider it in his review of South African species.
Possibly, the "Süd-Afrika" of Roger simply referred to somewhere south
of the Sahara, other species in his paper, e.g. Cr. senegalensis,
were collected in Senegal by Sichel.
