The
photomontage of the type worker is collated from http://www.antweb.org/specimen.do?name=casent0908360.
Although labelled "typus", this is from Basutoland
(Lesotho)
(listed in Forel, 1910e) but is not the true type which was from the
Mountains of Natal, collected by Wroughton. It is some 25% smaller (TL
ca 2.5 mm) than the types of braunsi
(TL ca 3.8 mm) and
dulcis (TL ca 3.0 mm). Arnold (1920a) however gave a confusing
statement where he regarded the Estcourt, Natal, specimens as braunsi and gave TL 2.6-3.5 mm with
natalensis from
Estcourt and Krantz Kloof as TL 2-2.5 mm..
