Lepisiota acholli (Weber)

return to key {link to the Hymenoptera Name Server} Type location South Sudan (Acantholepis capensis Mayr, acholli subsp. nov., Weber, 1943c: 382, illustrated, worker & queen) Imatong Mountains, 6400', 24.vii.1939, N A Weber
possible junior synonym thoth (Acantholepis capensis Mayr, thoth subsp. nov., Weber, 1943c: 382, illustrated, worker & queen) Imatong Mountains, 2900', 23.vii.1939, N A Weber).

Overlaying the Antweb images of Lepisiota issore suggests that too is identical with acholli. In order of description in Weber (1943c) acholli is the most senior name. Weber suggested that, unlike acholli, issore has distinct teeth on the petiole scale.

Weber's (1943c) description is on {original description}. Weber's (1943c) description of thoth is on {original description}.
