Lepisiota bipartita (F Smith)

Iran list Type location Israel ("Palestine/Holy Land") (Formica bipartita, F Smith, 1861a: 33, worker) - see below.

TL 2.5-3.0 mm (3.0-3.5 mm, Karavaiev from Transcaspasia); alitrunk subopaque; head weakly shiny; colour head and alitrunk reddish, gaster brown (scapes surpass occiput by 3/5 own length, Forel 1894c: 411); Karavaiev (1910b) seems to show the petiole shape for frauenfeldi as the upper shape in his drawing, the lower being bipartita (but I am not sure)
