Media/minor TL ca 7.5-8.0, HL , HW , SL ,PW ; CI , SI . Distinctive basal striations on the otherwise shiny gaster. Quite similar to Messor melancholicus but more coarsely sculptured on the alitrunk; also with small but distinct propodeal teeth. Messor striaticeps Andre (see bottom) has similar propodeal teeth but is smaller and has a shiny gaster.
