Note: placed in the genus "Nylanderia" by LaPolla, Brady &
Shattuck, 2010a: 127 (name only) but see my notes on the genus.
The record of it being found in South-West Iran by
Paknia et al.
(2008) was an identification by Collingwood but seems likely to be a
misidentification. The USA specimen shown at https://www.antweb.org/specimenImages.do?code=casent0104829,
for instance, clearly
differs, having a different head shape and thicker erect hairs than the
type (below).
