Minor - return to key {link to the Hymenoptera Name Server} Type location Senegal (Formica pallide-lutea, Latreille, 1802: 241, worker), regarded as Pheidole by Roger (1863b: 30), and included under the genus by Wheeler (1922), but Bolton (1995: 200) regarded it as an indeterminable species; worker only described .

Latreille's (1802c) description is at {original description}. His statement that it is almost glabrous, i.e. without hairs, suggests it was not a Pheidole.
