Wheeler's
(1933g) description is at .
Taylor (1967) reported
it also from Samoa and gave a more detailed description. his dimensions
were: HW 0.29-0.33 mm, HL 0.38-0.44, SL 0.25-0.28, CI 72-78, SI 84-85,

The
photomontage of a worker from Tanzania - Zanzibar is collated

Dimensions (assuming Antweb scale correct) HW 0.30, HL
0.39, SL 0.25, PW 0.19, CI 88, SI 83. Apart from the head
being proportionally slightly narrower than the type form, this does
appear a good match for a species otherwise reported on from Pacific
Islands very far away. Another possibility is Ponera incerta, which is similar and has a more likely connection
by virtue of distribution but that is some 1.2 X larger overall,
appears to be darker, has a more arcuate alitrhunk profile and a
higher petiole node. Soil nesting as with type.
