Rhoptromyrmex critchleyi Bolton

Type location Nigeria (Bolton, 1976: 303, illustrated, full-face head, lateral alitrunk and pedicel); the holotype worker was found at IITA, with a second collection (B.R. Critchley, 23-27.xi.1973, and 11-16.x.1973), known only from the type series of three workers - see below .

WORKER - TL 2.4-2.7 mm; separated as the only genus member with eleven-segmented antennae; propodeum with a pair of spines; head, alitrunk and pedicel densely reticulate-punctate; all dorsal surfaces with short standing hairs.
