In a brief note, Santschi (1930a)
added that the thorax is more elongated and its excision forms a more
open re-entrant angle than in T. foreli. Under nigricans
he noted - TL 2.3-2.6; black, mandibles, antennae and femora dark
brown, tarsi medium brown. Differing from the type by a slightly deeper
notch in the clypeus and the funiculus segments a little shorter.
Specimens from Zaïre, Kunugu, 1 worker; Ganda Sundi, 1 worker; Luebo,
Kalembi, 1 worker, more pubescent (Dr H Schouteden); Benza Mazola, 1
worker (R. Mayné) .
Also from Guinea (at Mt. Kakoulima, by
Silvestri; in Wheeler, 1922).

specimens (as Technomyrmex species
T³, Taylor, 1978: 55). WORKER. TL 2.49 mm, HL 0.61, HW 0.54, SL 0.59,

Colour red-brown to black, the coxae of mid- and hind-legs and apex of

I collected it from cocoa at the Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria,
Idi Ayunre. Nest seen in a termite damaged branch and the ants also
using old termite tunnels on the tree.
As Technomyrmex species T³ in Taylor (1981) but
listed without reference by Bolton (2007).
