Technomyrmex (Technomyrmex) semiruber Emery

return to key {link to the Hymenoptera Name Server} Type location Cameroun (Technonmyrmex semiruber n. sp., Emery, 1899e: 489, worker) collected by Conradt; worker only described (see Bolton, 1995) .

Emery's (1899e) description is at {original description}. Bolton's (2007: 35) re-description, not illustrated, is at {original description}.

Forel (1911d) wrote of Technomyrmex zimmeri, now synonymized with Technomyrmex schoutedeni, as resembling Technomyrmex semiruber but that has the gastral apex terminal; appendages with erect hairs, the head shiny and the propodeum much shorter and more domed.

My diagnosis is speculative but it is of the right size and general colouration, pubescence, etc.
