Emery had - MAJOR TL 9-11 mm, HL 3.2, HW 2.7, SL 2.3;
MINOR TL 4.5-5 mm, HL 1.3, HW 1.1, SL 1.8; QUEEN TL 11 mm, HL 2.8, HW
2.3, SL 2.5.
With the major the head and alitrunk are very densely
reticulo-punctate, so that all appears matt; mandibles quite shiny with
6 teeth; gaster finely and regularly striolate. giving a silky
reflection; black with funiculi and legs ferruguinous; extremities
brownish; head with very few long hairs; such hairs more numerous on
the alitrunk and gaster; pubescence very short and sparse; clypeus with
strongly advanced anterior lobe, with the lateral angles pronounced;
alitrunk profile similar to C.
aethiops; the petiole quite narrow with the upper border very
rounded.
Collingwood (1985) had this is a small dark brown
species with yellow to reddish-yellow legs; with few or no gular
hairs; both head and alitrunk finely sculptured and opaque with gaster
more shining; HW of largest worker 2.4 mm; hind tibia without setae but
with a fringe of short suberect pubescent hairs along whole length of
underside; gaster uniformly dark.
