Fernandez's (2004) description is at {original description}. Antenna 9-segmented. Loosely placed by Fernández in his "Carebara escherichi species complex - "minor workers with ommatidia, propodeum short, major absent or unknown".

The nearest, indeed very close, species from Africa appears to be Oligomyrmex frontalis from the Congo Basin
