Santschi's (1915c, 1919b) descriptions are at .
He noted very similar to weissi but the latter is
much less shiny and more yellow, with the sides of the head more convex
(near straight in zelotypa). Also known from Zimbabwe.
Note: What I earlier took to be zelotypa is now defined as Paratrechina boltoni by
LaPolla, Hawkes & Fisher (2011) .

This is considerably smaller than the Paratrechina
jaegerskioeldi specimens from Egypt and
Sudan. The alitrunk profile, notably the rounded propodeum also differs.
The queen from Kenya, at the bottom, also is smaller
than the specimen from Egypt.
