Oldham Place and Oldham Gardens

In 1813 the one-time smallpox hospital was acquired by James Oldham Oldham, a trustee of the Countess of Huntingdon's Connexion. Oldham died in 1823, having given the property to the Connexion, and the yard and garden were let as building lots. Oldham Place and Oldham Gardens, a row of houses with cottages behind, were built here in 1824–8

With the incorporation of the hospital site into the prison in the 1860s, Oldham Place and Gardens became half encircled by the prison wall, as if in a cliff-side cove. Oldham Gardens was pulled down in the early 1890s for the development of Mount Pleasant Sorting Office.

“I once spotted him in a dirty outfit with a towel wrapped around his head (pukkah “mowali” type) and when I called out to him he put his fingers to his lips and told me to move on — he must have been waiting to catch a smuggler.” From http://www.dgrc.ca/sms/affairs/news/news-archive.html.  The Abu Alumni Oriole. St. Mary's High School, Mount Abu. Alumni News.
St. Mary's High School is a private Catholic school located in the oasis of Mount Abu in the Aravalli Range of Rajasthan in western India.[1] The school is operated by the Irish Christian Brothers and it accepts boys for both day and boarding. Due to the cold climate the scholastic year usually runs from March to November. Education begins from grade four and ends at grade ten with a centralized ICSE board exam. The majority of the students come from the Catholic community of Mumbai.[citation needed]. The school opened in 1887 as Mount Abu Railway School. Upon takeover by the Christian Brothers in 1929, it was renamed St Mary's

Schneider Family - mother of Anna Dagmar Maud Thurlow

The family aural history has the Schneider family as being forced to leave Mauritius after the devastatating effects of a cyclone. That may well be true as there was an extremely severe cyclone in 1892:
"During the hot months, hurricanes and cyclones, which sometimes are very violent, visit the Island. The most disastrous one came on April 29th, 1892, and caused an
enormous destruction of buildings and crops, and the loss of many lives. In a few hours 1200 people were killed, 4000 wounded, 150,000 rendered homeless".
What does seem to be reliable is:
Carl Ernest Schneider married Emilie Louise Albertine ?.
Times of India 15 May 1911 - May 7th at Railway Quarters, Ahmedabad, Emilie Louise Albertine [Schneider?] the dearly beloved mother of Anna Thurlow after a few days' illness. Age 70 years 3 months and 27 days. Deeply deeply mourned by her sorrowing daughter and sons. A most loving devoted and self-sacrificing mother. ""Goodbye mother darling"" till the day breaks and the shadows flee away.  [Born 18 January 1841] link
Emilie death record, died of heart failure, age 70, widow; buried, St George's Church, Ahmedabad, 8 May, 1911.
Their children seem to have included:

August Carl Schneider, b. 1865, d. 28 Feb. 1912, Lahore. Piano Tuner, Heart Failure; buried at Lahore Cathedral.
Marriage 1, 1881-1885, Annie Rendell. Annie Violet Schneider, wife of Carl Schneider, died and buried 21 Dec. 1909, Sewri, Bombay, India; age 41, b 1868 (Mormon Records Batch 800263-8). An Annie Violet Rendell, was b 1863, Poona.

Schneider Louise & Anna Thurlow 1939

Earlier, the record of Select Births and Baptisms, Germany, 1558-1898,  link, has:
Anna Louise Pauline Christine Mathilde Schneider, birth, 13 Jul 1868, baptism, 23 Aug. 1868, Sankt Matthaeus, Bredow, Pommern, Prussia.
Caroline Louise Anna Schneider, christened 28 Feb 1855, Sankt Petri, Berlin Stadt, Brandenburg, Prussia; died 29 May 1855; father, August Schneider, mother Charlotte Dorothee Caroline Wachsmuth.
Carl Ernst Schneider, male, christened 16 July 1857, Sankt Marien Kirche, Danzig Stadt, Westpreussen, Prussia; father, Carl August Schneider, mother, Emilie Auguste Thielsch.
Carl August Schneider, male, birth 08 Jul 1822, Stuttgart, Württemberg, Germany, christening, 18 Jul 1822; father, Gottlieb Schneider, mother, Friderike Bertsch.
Whilst no connection can be shown, the coincidence of names seems remarkable.
