Note from Martin: I have also have some more information about Ellen's brother George Thomas Ellis. You may recall our Aunty Flo wrote that George was cast  aside by his mother, Emily, as he was to marry a women with 4 children in Bath. Well one of his wife's descendants has made contact with me and told me a sad tale.  Evidently George married a widow, Ada Hall, in St. Peter Port, Guernsey, on 29th March 1902. The family moved to Bath where George and Ada had 4 children: Emily Ada, Sydney George, Wyndham Thomas and Margaret Joyce. According to my contact George travelled a great deal as a commercial salesman but he was a brutal man to his wife when he came home. Ada was apparently so scared that she eventually ran away with her children to Sussex. George, who was recorded as "not of sound mind" committed suicide by cutting his own throat in Bath. Of the Ellis children, only Sydney George had any offspring, a daughter Patricia who may still be living today in Battersea, London.

Most of the basic research, i.e. obtaining Marriage Certificates, etc., was done by my brother, Martin Taylor.
