return to key {link to the Hymenoptera Name Server} Type location Cameroun (Polyrhachis (Myrma) Andrei n., Emery, 1921e: 22, illustrated, queen) only known queen, location not given, Conradt
queen only described .

{Polyrhachis andrei queen}Emery's (1921e) description is at {original description}.

Queen only, Bolton considered it probably a separate species but possibly a variation of Polyrhachis decemdentata (Bolton, 1973b: 298, illustrated alitrunk and petiole only). If I have correctly identified the queen that I show for P. decemdentata then this is more coarsely striate on the head and alitrunk dorsum and has a more rectangular head.

Rigato (2016: 10) gave a revised description, designating a single worker from DRCongo, found in isolation without an associated queen. That is at {original description}. He additionally listed a queen from Mpanda, Tanzania, an area far removed from the other West Africa, western Congo findings.
