Type location Zaïre (Polyrhachis cornuta n. sp., Stitz, 1910: 150, worker, not illustrated), only known worker from Kimpoko, collected by Büttner - no images on Antweb (December 2014).

WORKER - TL 5.6 mm; separable from related species by the distinctive petiole. Colour black, mandibles and apical six segments of antenna brown or yellow brown.
