Cataglyphis lucasi (Emery)

return to key {link to the Hymenoptera Name Server} Type location Tunisia (Myrmecocystus lucasi, Emery, 1898c: 147, worker; Bernard, 1953a: 130 (203), male, no description, C. (Machaeromyrma) Lucasi, m. inedit.).

Emery's (1898c) description is at {original description}.

Apart from the colouration, notably the dark gaster, there seems no difference between the lucasi type specimen and a media specimen of C. bombycinus, both with a TL ca 5 mm.The proportions, such as CI and SI appear identical
