Cyphoidris spinosa Weber
Type location Zaďre (C.
spinosus, Weber, 1952: 26, illustrated, worker), pictured by
Hölldobler & Wilson (1990, page 103), 15 miles north of Beni, Ituri Forest, 25.ii.1948, N A Weber. Also
known from Ivory Coast, at Agboville (I. Löbl); and Angola;
worker only described. .

WORKER - TL 3.8-4.3 mm; basal half of first gastral
tergite unsculptured except for hair pits. Dorsal alitrunk with
abundant conspicuous short decumbent hairs. Colour dark reddish brown
to black (Bolton, 1981b, illustrated, full-face view, full body
profile).
