Type location Kenya (Monomorium Osiridis n. sp., Santschi, 1915c: 258, illustrated, worker) Bura, Alluaud & Jeannel .

Santschi's (1915c) description is at . Bolton's modern description (1987) is at .

WORKER - TL 1.7-1.9 mm (Bolton, 1987, 354, not illustrated). Bolton states of the alitrunk, "in profile the metanotal groove not impressed".  This clearly is at odds with the description and drawing by Santschi (1915) and the both the type and fresh workers shown below.
