Type location Cameroun (Smithistruma placora sp. n., Bolton, 1983: 308, not illustrated, worker), collected at Nko'emvon by D.A. Jackson, 2.xi.1980; holotype worker and 2 paratype workers, plus one worker collected 7 months later .

WORKER - TL 2.0-2.1 mm; no impressed metanotal groove and notable head pilosity, of fine anterior curved simple ground-pilosity and numerous very long hairs arranged in arched-transverse rows; colour medium-brown, gaster blackish-brown.
