Latreille's
description is at .
André (1881-6: 222) gave a
full illustrated description of all forms, with notes; this is at , with the illustrations on .
Tapinoma erraticum was illustrated by Emery
(1916b).
Emery (1925d) attempted to clarify the state of the then
known palaearctic forms - see emery-1925d-hns3905.pdf
Most erraticum forms appear quite similar in proportions and
colour. He described bononiensis,
from the plains around Bologne, as (p. 55) uniquely different in the
light chestnut-brown colour of the worker. TL 2.5-3.5 mm, but the queen
was the same colour as the type erraticum. Atanassov &
Dlussky (1992) was on ants from Bulgaria, in Bulgarian, and seemingly
not available via link sources.
