Temnothorax nadigi (Kutter)
Iran list Type location Switzerland
(Leptothorax nadigi,
Kutter, 1925: 409, illustrated, worker &
queen; placed in Temnothorax
by Bolton, 2003: 27) - no location
given.
The original description and most related literature (see the Antweb
pages) appears not to be readily available. Even so the suggested
junior synonyms appear possibly to be incorrect.

The photomontage of a type worker is collated from http://www.antweb.org/specimen.do?name=casent0907572.

The
illustration of T. caucasica given by Radchenko (1995a) differs
considerably from the type nadigi, as the latter does not have
marked striations on the lateral alitrunk but does have a median carina
on the clypeus. If anything the Iran specimen (below) perhaps is closer
to caucasicus but Antweb does
not have images of that nor of T.
hasardaghi.
