The holotype worker, plus one paratype worker, was collected from leaf litter at CRIG by Bolton (8.ii.1970) (1980). Other Ghana records he listed were from Mepom and Okumaning (D. Leston), and Mampong (P. M. Room).

WORKER - TL 3.1-3.3 mm; similar to Tetramorium lucayanum but much more coarsely sculptured. All dorsal surfaces with numerous standing hairs. Colour blackish brown to black.

From Ivory Coast were two collections, 42 workers from Nzi Noua, from a degraded forest log (W.L. & D.E. Brown, 13.i.1977), and from Banco Forest (W.L. Brown).
